CM INAUGURATES ‘DIAL 100’ SCHEME ON MP FOUNDATION DAY

On the occasion of the Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan inaugurated the country’s first ‘Dial 100’ service on Sunday. Police will rush to the spot of incident immediately on dialing phone number 100. 

The system has been set up at state level police control room. Presently, the scheme has been introduced in seven districts including Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Gwalior, Ujjain, Sagar and Rewa and would be expanded to other districts soon.




On receiving call on Dial 100, first response vehicle will reach incident spot in 5 minutes in rural areas. Police personnel manning vehicle will ensure necessary action after reaching the spot and report to state control room. The service will function 24X7. The Chief Minister flagged off Dial 100 vehicles.

The Chief Minister said that resolve was taken to take police service to people in Vision Document-2018, which has been fulfilled today. He congratulated police for maintaining law & order during festivals. Describing law and order as pre-requisite of development, he said that Madhya Pradesh police has done commendable work in this regard. 

He congratulated people on Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day. He said that the state has achieved success in every sector of development during last one decade. State is on top in economic growth and agriculture growth rates. He said that farmers facing crisis currently will be helped to tide over it.

Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh will not be allowed to lag behind any other state in development. Top priority has been attached to law and order. Referring to Dial 100 service, the Chief Minister said that it would enhance trust between police and people and send message to criminals that police is alert and can reach incident spot immediately. For this, training has also been imparted to concerning staff. He directed to increase telephone lines of Dial 100 in view of enthusiasm evinced by people.

Chouhan lauded talent and capacity of police officers. Directing for the preparedness to make the service effective, the Chief Minister said that Dial 100 would prove to be model for other states also. He also inspected arrangements for ‘Dial 100’. 

Home Minister Babulal Gaur congratulated police administration for launching Dial 100 service. Describing it as unique, he said that it is a gift for people of the state on Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day.

DGP Surendra Sinh said in the welcome address that Dial 100 will function 24X100 and live upto people’s expectations. Describing Dial 100 as novel initiative, he said that at present 230 posts have been sanctioned for it. More staff will also be needed in future. He informed that every vehicle is equipped with latest computer. Each vehicle will be manned by 2 police personnel.

All police stations are being connected with electronic mapping. About 2 thousand landmarks have been created to guide vehicle to exact spot immediately. About one thousand vehicles will reach every district soon.
